Here lieth entomb'd Mrs DOROTHY HERBERT wife
of Mr THOMAS HERBERT of this Island Gent & daughter
of Major HENRY LYTTON of the fame place deceafed
when living she was an ornament to ye marriage state
in which she virtuously liv'd twenty-five years & ten
months and had Ifsve...(sic)
sons & seven daughters
but to the Irreparable lofs of her afflicted family
died in childbed with her tenth son
She change this life for a better Janry 16th 1724
in the 42d year of her age
