JOHN MILLS who departed this life
5th August 1809 Aged 47 years.
She was an affectionate wife. A tender
mother and a sincere friend.
Also the above JOHN MILLS
Late foreman of Sailmakers in H.M. Naval
Yard in this Island, who departed this life
30th Novr. 1817 Aged 53 years.
He was born in DEVONSHIRE in the year 1764
Served his apprenticeship in H.M. Dockyard
at PLYMOUTH and through his good conduct was
sent out by the Honl. Navy Board to the Naval
Yard in this Island in the year 1787 in which
situation he continued 29 years.

reader for truth this character behold
to act uprightly was through life his plan
he lived beloved and died an honest man."
